Vacation 2008 - July 21

Monday was the Aquarium at Newport. We had so much fun once we got there (a few stops and wrong turns by various people just makes the trip a bit more memorable, right?).

We ate lunch at Arctic Circle, and my favorite part was the fountain they had in their drive-thru.

Four kids ready for some fun.
This was one wiggly sea otter, but I managed to get a decent picture.

Kena watching birds in the aviary.

Jaxson was totally into the jellies, man. Sweet.

Joey seemed a little on the bored side, by now she had gotten cranky enough in the stroller that I had her in one of those front carriers. This is where she looks most excited by the fish.

Sea horse on a blown glass sculpture. This entire exhibit portion of the aquarium had all sorts of them, some of them glow in the dark. They were pretty cool.

Josh touching a sea cucumber in the touch pool.

This lazy fish was laying on top of the glass in Passages of the Deep. You get to walk straight through the middle of an aquarium basically, sea animals above, below, beside, you're basically in a giant tube.

This is an AWESOME close-up of a Sting Ray that Josh got.

We tried our hardest to get a good sharky picture for Kaiden, but they move so fast this was the best we got from a side view, but there are more.

Kenadee's new turtle makes a great seat for bear.

That concludes our trip to the aquarium. From here we drove south for a couple hours on Highway 101 along the coast to Florence where we stayed in a beach house for a few nights.
