Joey is 2!!! (Part 1)

Today my sweet baby girl turned 2. I still can't believe it. I think I've said before I always nervously laughed at and thought people who said kids grow up so fast were crazy. Then I witnessed it first-hand. She's so much fun as a toddler, though! She does and says some of the funniest things (usually timing is the key, since she still has a limited vocabulary) and I absolutely love it!

Yesterday we went to the doctor and she did so good! She only got upset a few times, and calmed down quickly. In short, she's small and doing well.

H: 32 1/2" 15% If the twice your height at 2 theory pans out, she'll be 5'5", just a couple of inches taller than me.
W: 21 lbs <5% Her baby cousin Mason is going to pass her up soon!
Head: 25%
BMI: 14.5 7%

After a yummy French Toast dinner, which is one of her favorites (we know this because she actually asks for seconds), we opened presents. Stinkin' camera focused on the box instead of her, but if you look closely you can tell she's pretty excited about her potty.
You can't really see if she's smiling, but I think the hug says it all. This kid LOVES clothes!
Tinkerbell wrapping paper. "Barbell" is her favorite!
I laugh everytime I look at this! It looks worse than it is, I promise!
Puzzles!

Then it was time for a Birthday Daddy-Daughter dance. It was really cute, and ended just the way Joey would want.... a TOTAL dip!

Joey LOVES her new potty. I noticed her trying to poop her pants, so I whisked her off to the potty. I wasn't fast enough, but I had her sit there for a couple minutes in case she wasn't done, and sure enough, she tinkled! It sings a song about using the potty, and she may have gone more, but she was trying to figure out where the music was coming from, lol. She seemed pretty pleased with all the praise from Mommy, and especially the piece of candy that followed once we had her cleaned up.

Then we had microwave cake. It had been quite awhile since we'd made one, and I was doing it from memory (the recipe got lost in our many moves). I was a little concerned when I had to cook it longer than usual, but it seemed to turn out ok. Joey was THRILLED when we were singing "Happy Birthday" to her, and it took a few tries, but she managed to blow out both candles on her own. Her cake face wasn't that impressive, most likely because it has a glaze instead of frosting, so I'll be sure to get a good one at her party on Saturday.

Thanks for blogging about this so quick! I was dying to see some 'official' two-year-old pictures. She's so adorable. Looks like she really enjoyed her celebration!
