Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday was Josh's 28th Birthday. To celebrate, Saturday he and I went to lunch at Carl's Jr. and went to see Avatar in 3d. I enjoyed it alot more than I thought I would. Joke's on him, he has to suffer through New Moon with me next Monday for Valentine's Day. :) That was our agreement.
Anyways, then we went back to my parents to pick up Joey and had some pizza for dinner. As we were leaving I suggested seeing if we could drop by his parents house for a few minutes. I knew what they were planning to get him and wasn't sure if I could keep it a secret much longer. :)
So after a quick visit we went home and put Princess to bed. She does pretty well without naps until close to bedtime, then its meltdown central.
Sunday morning Joey and I let Josh sleep in while we colored him a birthday card, which subtly explained my lack of gift for him. Poor Josh was the only one able to fast, otherwise we probably would have had a yummy breakfast. We went to church then came home and enjoyed a yummy Sunday dinner (we're not really football people, so it was fancy-ish, rather than nachos and dips, haha). Josh made a lasagna and we also had some yummy rhodes rolls. After a bit of relaxing and playing we decided we should have chocolate pie so Joey would have time to burn through some of it before bedtime. Here's Daddy and Joey blowing out the candles. He had 3 candles because he's pushing 3 decades. Hehe.

After dinner Joey and Daddy started chasing each other around the island wall between the kitchen and living room. Not an unusual activity. But soon it was the only thing Joey wanted to do, and wanted Mommy to join in, too. I was already dizzy from watching them! So we did laps, lots of laps. I felt like the warthogs or whatever they are at the zoo that always stay on a beaten path. We started trying to alter the route a bit and it was making her mad, clearly getting close to bedtime. So a few more rounds then we went and put her to bed. Then Josh and I watched a movie he'd been wanting to see.

Here's Josh with some of his presents. The card Joey and I made explained that he got a year subscription to his favorite magazine, Imagine FX. It has alot of useful information for his art. And his parents got him a copy of "Men and Angels," which is a book of alot of the art by one of his favorite artists, James Christensen. I didn't realize they were getting him an AUTOGRAPHED COPY, though! Oh he was so excited! Joey got him an early present of a mouse for his laptop which he loves, and my parents gave him some cash to spend on himself, which he keeps adding to the list of possibilities. He's gonna have a hard time narrowing it down. All in all, I think 28 is off to a good start!
