Milestone Mania!

I've fallen way behind on my blogging recently, mostly because I've been crazy busy between projects, testing out our new Wii that we bought as an early Anniversary gift to ourselves with our tax return, and these many milestones.

First off, the boys started solids. So far they've had cereal, sweet potatoes, and squash and like them all. We're going to try something bound to get more exciting faces like green beans or peas next. :)
Tristan ready to go
First bite
Hey Mom, that's pretty good, pass me some more!
What?
Nick heard all the fuss we were making over Tristan and was scared out of his wits.
What are you going to do to me!?
First bite
What is this stuff!?
Nick seems to make more faces like he doesn't like it at first, but they both eat like champs. Nick seems to be grasping the concept of eating from a spoon a bit better than Tristan, but they've both been great so far!

Next we have Joey's first haircut! Seriously. I've trimmed her bangs, but could never bring myself to cut it, but it was starting to look pretty yucky at the ends, so Aunt Carin volunteered to give her a trim for me.
Before-Front
Before-Back...Look how long!
She did great holding very still. As you can see having cousins to entertain you helps! :)
I thought she'd be wiggly and freaking out, but she just sat there!
After a couple minutes she started making weird faces, I never did find out what was wrong, but she made it through without any tears from either of us!
After-Front
After-Back. Granny is taking her to find a treat for being such a good girl!

That same day our lazy potty training went hardcore! She came to the bathroom as I was leaving it in the morning and said she wanted to go potty. We'd been doing it randomly (and lazily) like this for about a week. She went! I'd been telling myself when she actually went I'd put her in panties, so it was time to start! She went one other time that afternoon just before we left for Granny's for the haircut. Since then she went twice on Friday (4 days later), and I think that was a mix of dumb luck and excitement because that was the first day we started a sticker chart to motivate her. Other than that we've had lots of accidents. Yesterday was the 1 week anniversary of starting. Patience. Patience.

Later that evening we celebrated Josh's birthday. We kept it super simple as he hates birthdays because they remind him he's getting OLD. Daddy slipped each of the boys a lick of chocolate pie and we surprised him with a new addition to the family....

What a proud Daddy!
