You know the cliche "Are we there yet?" Well, Joey's version is, "Is it time to go ________ yet?" If she knows there's something coming up, there's no shutting her up. We've even started not telling her we're going to do something for a little sanity! My family is all going camping in July, and we've been talking about it quite a bit the last few days making plans, and we even did a little window shopping over the weekend, mostly for stuff for Joey like her own flashlight, lifejacket, and fishing pole. Well, first of all, she wants to buy all those things NOW. Second, she wants to go camping! Big surprise, right? For several special occasions lately (Christmas, the wedding, etc.) I've considered making a countdown chain with her, but never did. Well today I decided it was time!
After I put the boys down for their morning nap we made this!
25 days until the "Let's go camping!!" chain. I made 26 so she could rip one off today to get used to the idea. :) So far she hasn't caught on, she's still asking. ;)
And here it is in its home (at least for now). I had to find somewhere where it wouldn't be hanging down far enough for the adventurous boys to get it!

My kids do the same thing. Is it such and such yet? Five minutes later. Is it such and such yet? I've thought of doing a countdown calendar with them. I should try countdown chains.
Caleb is exactly the same way. He's gotten better, but still asks! Chains are good. She'll get the hang of it and start counting everyday, and then she'll come up to you and tell you how many more days. That's Caleb does. They are just too cute!
