4th of July Weekend Fun!

My cute little niece Olivia was blessed on the 3rd of July, and since they have church at 9 am and are 2 hours away we decided to make the trek up to Wyoming on Saturday afternoon. (I can't believe we've been such slackers, that was the twins' first trip up there!) We had lots of fun playing, and after dinner we did FIREWORKS! The kids LOVED it! First were snaps, then sparklers. These were "colored" sparklers, so they weren't spouting stuff all over like the ones I remember from growing up.
Kena, cute and cautious :)

Mason, loving that he's holding a stick with fire! (Notice all the snaps)

Jax and Joey. Joey always seemed to be stirring a pot or something.

Tristan and Nickolas, confused and probably bored

Josh...conducting the choir? Look at all the smoke those things were putting out!

Statue of Liberty, Trace style

After a bit the "adults" became concerned with way the kids were handling them, so they decided to finish them off themselves....and quick!
Cory and his torch

Anyone else think Josh looks a little too excited about this?!

At least Annie was smart enough to split them up, but I think she may be enjoying it a bit too much, too!
No wonder these kids are scary! ;)
Apparently Joey got a little too close to someone. No worries, she was not injured at all, just a little discoloration.

The whole group ready for the good stuff!

Joey would pounce Cory every time one finished and ask to do another. Notice the helmet she had to wear the whole time. Goof! (Mason stayed seated and said, "Again! Again!")

Sunday we got up and ready and managed to get 4 adults and 8 kids to church on time! The blessing was beautiful, but I didn't get a picture of her in her dress....no one did. She was not liking it and didn't even make it through Sacrament meeting before she got it taken off. After some yummy food (and chocolate trifle) we visited for a bit, then took off for our next adventure!
Josh's dad received his Woodbadge for scouting, so we stopped at Murray Park on our way home to see him in his beading ceremony. Then after melting ourselves, enjoying a little dessert and family, we brought our kids home and all crashed. :)
Monday was mostly uneventful, just chillin' as a fam! We had planned to go see fireworks, but the kids were all cranky, and just as we figured we should start getting ready to go Joey asked for jammies and brushing her teeth, so we put them to bed.

Hurray! I'm so glad you guys made it up. We don't get visitors often and I love it when we do! Next time we may even have a real bed for you to sleep in! (Bribery is a beautiful thing...)

I love to see your two families together.
I wish we had been able to be with you guys on Sunday, but it was better that we didn't bring my sickness over there and expose every one.
