Happy 1st Birthday Boys!

Last Thursday Tristan and Nick turned 1 and I still can't believe it, although suddenly they are looking alot more grown up. *Sigh*

The Birthday Boys
Tristan, Nickolas

Nick wanted the bow. Tristan wanted to know what his problem was, lol!

Look, you have one, too!

Starting to get the hang of Mom allowing him to rip paper.

I got one! Time for a snack.

Nick ripping some paper.

They didn't look up much. They were very into what they were doing.

Nick climbing over the present he's opening to get to Tristan's.

Here bro, let me help ya with that.

Nick is happy with his drums.

Joey was thrilled when we finally told her she could help Tristan finish opening his.

Hey Dad, could ya hurry up?!

Tristan playing with his piano.

Nick banging on the drums.
In one year Tristan has grown from 4 lbs to 15 lbs 15 oz, and from 17" to 27 1/4". He's still below the 5th percentile for both height and weight, but is following his same growing pattern, so all is well. His head is currently the 70th percentile.

In one year Nickolas has grown from 4 lbs 9 oz to 16 lbs 4 oz, and from 17" to 28". He's below the 5th percentile for weight, and is right at the 5th percentile for height, also growing well. His head is in the 55th percentile.

I was shocked to hear Nick is only 5 oz more than Tristan, especially since he's 3/4" taller. He's so much chunkier! And feels alot heavier, too. Weird. There's a fairly big gap in their head percentiles, but its actually only 1/2 cm difference.

At one year these boys are loving climbing over whatever they can, including each other. Straight to their destination is the only option as far as these two are concerned. They love to play in the kitchen. Both enjoying emptying our recycling box. Nick is our crumb cleaner, no need for a dog at this house! Tristan likes pushing our garbage can around. If they are not to be found in the main part of the house, they are probably down the hall playing with Joey's toys in their room. They love it there.

They are still eating baby food with a little table food, but I'm about ready to kick that habit to save some cash. They have done great with the switch to whole milk, no problems like with Joey, yay! Still from a bottle, however. They are NOT fans of any of the many sippy cups we've tried. Tristan will drink a little apple juice, and Nick a little prune (we were putting a little of that in his formula for awhile there at the end because he was constantly getting backed up). Joey was drinking all sorts of juices by now, so I'm not sure what their deal is.

They sleep generally from 8:30ish to 7, but sometimes get up more like 5:30 and I sleep with them in the living room if that's the case.

They are still army crawling like crazy, and both are showing little signs of getting closer to getting up on their hands and knees. They also enjoy using Josh and I to stand up.
