Halloween Fun 2010

We didn't do anything super-fancy, but with Joey getting a little older and getting excited about holidays I tried to make sure so got to help with a few things. Thursday night we made Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies for Daddy to take to work on Friday.

Friday we went to Daddy's work for Trick or Treating and to introduce the twins. We got swarmed when we walked in the door. :) Then we all went to lunch at KFC because they have a new chicken sandwich I wanted to try. It was pretty good, but there needed to be more sauce. Burgers/sandwiches should ALWAYS be dripping with sauce. Here's Joey dressed up as the sweetest Tinkerbell I've ever seen ready to go see Daddy.
Tristan as Thing 1. He was not appreciating the camera.
Nickolas as Thing 2. He was just happy to be on the floor. :)
Thing 1 and Thing 2. Their hats barely fit (especially Nickolas's), but they were absolutely perfect!
My 3 T's. This was the best I could get out of Joey. I think having the twins all over her was a little unnerving. Hopefully they can sit a bit better for Christmas pictures. :D

Saturday afternoon Grandma and Grandpa Hadley came to visit to see the kids in their costumes.

Saturday night we went to Eagle Mountain to party and Trick or Treat with the Coffey side. Papa, Daddy, and Uncle Nathan took the older kids out Trick or Treating between rainstorms. Josh said Joey was a little unsure at first, but by the end she was running up to doors saying Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween. The twins, Auntie Carin, Granny, Uncle Sam, and I were smart and stayed where it was warm. :) The decision to go was kind of last minute, but I'm glad we did. All the posts on Facebook from people in the ward said their kids loved Trunk or Treat but it rained the whole time. I think it was good for Joey to have cousins to go around with, too.
Saturday we ran out of time for decorating pumpkins, so Joey and I did it last night. It was still Halloween, and she was really excited to use her little hammer. You hit the pegs with the hammer, then put the battery operated light in there, and it works sort of like a lite brite. It was fun having some one on one time with her. It doesn't happen very often, unfortunately.

She thought ot was pretty cool when it glowed
I did a quick carving of the twins big pumpkin. I also learned big pumpkins are also thick pumpkins.

My favorite part of Halloween is that Joey wants to try all of her candy. She got a reasonable amount for a 2 year old, but she wants all of it, so she'll take 1 or 2 bites, then occasionally Josh or I will finish it, but for the most part they are going in the garbage because she wants a different candy. So our sugar rush should be over pretty quick. :D

Joshua did the same thing with his Halloween candy when he was 2 last year. He would take a bite or two of one then move on to another piece to do the same thing. We were actually okay that we ended up throwing a lot away. He didn't need all that extra sugar.
